This is the second Flesh & Buns restaurant we have designed. Flesh and Buns is inspired by the Japanese Izakaya that you may find in a side street in Tokyo – an informal restaurant with great food and flowing drinks.
Located on a side street, off Kensington High Street in London, the new Flesh & Buns is urban, irreverent and fun offering all day dining from brunch right up to dinner.
With a footprint of around 300 SQM the space comprises a bar area and a dining area which can be divided up by some custom made pivot screens which can swing open or shut. The screens feature specially commissioned Manga-style artwork which is continued on a 6m mural on an adjacent wall. Specially selected artwork prints add to the sense of opulence. Window louvres were crafted to control daylight in the space. Origami paper lamp shades are another nod toward the Japanese inspiration for the restaurant.
This is the third Flesh & Buns restaurant in the group, the design of each one adapted to the character and opportunities of the location while retaining the key essence of the brand.
