At Studio Duncalf, we create exceptional restaurant interior design for a wide range of hospitality concepts across the UK and Europe. Our portfolio spans everything from neighbourhood restaurants and airport dining concepts to Michelin-starred destinations and restaurant brands.
Every restaurant has its own story, audience and commercial objectives and for this reason our approach is always brand-led. We combine strategic thinking, intelligent space planning and creative restaurant design to create environments that strengthen brand identity, enhance the guest experience and improve operational efficiency.
We take the time to understand and balance the wants and needs of the customer and the needs of the operator. From customer flow and seating layouts to back-of-house operations every design decision is informed by both creativity and commercial thinking.
Our experienced team guides clients through every stage of the process, from initial concept and brand development to interior design, technical detailing and delivery. The result is beautifully crafted restaurants that are distinctive and memorable in a competitive market.
Although our focus is always on creating commercially successful restaurants rather than winning awards, many of our projects have received industry recognition. Our work includes the multi-award-winning, Michelin-starred Alchemist in Copenhagen, together with celebrated concepts such as Bone Daddies and Flesh & Buns in London, alongside numerous other award-winning hospitality projects across Europe.
All successful projects are the result of following a clear process. This involves us understanding the target customer, the commercial objectives of the client and the opportunities and constraints of the space. Then comes the concept design process, planning and layout then the technical drawings vital for costing and building the project. Observing this process always leads to projects which come in on time and budget whether that be a light refurb of an existing restaurant or a brand new concept.
It is not obligatory to work with an interior designer on a restaurant design project but in our extensive experience it is wise to do so. Not doing so can prove to be a false economy. Working with an experienced and skilled interior design team like Studio Duncalf can save you money, time and big mistakes in the process.
Yes, we have designed many projects outside the UK in countries including: Denmark, Germany, Thailand, Japan and the USA
We work with a number of large, well known brands. We add the most value by working with them to develop new brands or to revive and revitalise existing brands. In this case we will usually implement a small number of restaurants then leave the mass roll out to someone else.
