Tap & Brew is a craft beer bar restaurant concept with locations in Dublin, Liverpool and Newcastle and now Leeds Bradford Airport specialising in regional beers. Each Tap & Brew location is supplied with high quality beer by a popular craft local brewery. In this case the beer is supplied by the Salt Beer Factory just 8 miles away in nearby Shipley.
In common with all Tap & Brew bar restaurants, the design is influenced by the feel of a brewery and also the industrial heritage of the region where both Leeds and Bradford have played an important role in Britain’s industrial story. Concrete effect floors, the dark, tiled bar front and hanging feature light fittings celebrate this spirit. The dark metalwork pays tribute to the abundance of steel in some of the remaining industrial buildings in the area such as the Corn Exchange in Leeds and the use of timber reflecting the importance of wood during the region’s Victorian, industrial heyday. Large copper tanks and exposed piping emphasise the craft brewing theme, creating the impression that beer is freshly stored on site and poured straight into customers’ glasses.
