Crate is a multi tenanted food hall, social and community space at the 17&Central shopping centre in Walthamstow. Covering 1,400sqm sqm of space on the upper floor of the shopping centre. Through a combination of space planning, interior design and branding, we worked to transform the space into a colourful, bustling community hub formed around F&B.
Crate comprises 6 street food units managed by local operators and a cafe. We designed the units to allow the tenants to operate efficiently while allowing maximum flexibility for the landlord to manage tenant transitions.
The main focal point is High Street Social which combines a bar and flexible event space with a range of functions to suit the needs of the community in different ways from live music and comedy to mother and baby yoga.
